The music I identify most with is Jazz Fusion. At its best it embodies values like growth through integration, freedom of expression, openness to new technology, a spirit of experimentation and a healthy disregard for restriction. All qualities I place in high regard.
Over the past 20 years the development of computer-based music production and growth of the Web have given rise to more genres and sub-genres than ever before. An ocean of Electronica moved by experimentation and empowered by technology is promising new horizions, but the movement is young and suffers from a bewildering array of stylistic labels.
I dislike labels mainly because they restrict creative scope. After all, who really wants to be in a box? Having said that I regard this climate of multiple fragmenting forms as exciting - because Fusion has an opportunity for re-invention by absorbing elements of Electronica. So whatever kind of Nu Jazz label you want to use - this is the direction I'm going.
At some point I'll prepare release versions of the tracks represented here, but I'm in no hurry; my priority is the development of some custom software which will advance my musical vision.
